Redid my little nano tank after my betta died :( I came back from my trip and he hadn’t made it. I think it may have been due to over feeding.
I did manage to pick up a new little man and also a little lady for him to. Started with two females but one was a little to bossy for him. He’s looking a little shredded due to her but is now on his way to a healthy recovery.
I don’t get to see my little hillstream loaches much but today they were out and about. I wish I could grow plants without C02 :/ poo
I wouldn’t recommend keeping male and female bettas together longterm. Only for breeding purposes as the females will gang up and kill the male or the male will become to aggressive and kill one or more of the females. It has been done before but usually by people that breed bettas and keep the siblings together from birth.
Ah I asked the pet store employee and he told me I’d need atleast 2. I thought my fish was lonely, I’m a bad parent T-T he didn’t mention anything for brewing though
W-what?? They actually suggested two? I’d go back and give them a piece of my mind.
Explain to them that in the wild makes set up territories and actively drive out other fish! Even females. They’re only drawn in for breeding, then they are driven away!
I’d link to sources but I’m on my phone but I wrote about debunking betta myths!
For now I’ve moved one into my community tank and she’s doing fine. I guess I should have researched more before just buying on a whim. :(
